Allied - disappointing, I thought i was getting an action thriller with a hint of romance, instead it was a romantic thriller with a hint of action 2/5

Hell or High Water - very understated, disappointing ending, but if you get the underlying message (basically take from those wealthy banks and pay them back in kind) it is interesting. But not brilliant. 2.5/5

Doctor Strange

Dr Strange - passable marvel action thriller, not quite what I expected though. 3/5

Jack Reacher 2

Jack Reacher 2 - enjoyable, but not as thrilling as the first installment. Seems to have been toned down a bit. 3/5

The Accountant

The Accountant - excellent keep you guessing, full of twists, action thriller. 5/5

The Magnificent Seven

The Magnificent Seven - disappointing remake, good performance from Denzel as you would expect, but the other actors seemed wooden and the dialogue was poor. Great action sequences but is that enough for the public? 3/5 at best.

Midnight Special

Midnight Special - a little confusing as to what is exactly going on and just who the people who live in the sky are? my guess is they are us but in another dimension or maybe aliens. Maybe i missed the clues? but overall again rather disappointing, but it did keep me watching. 3/5

Captain America

Captain America - Civil war, not as good as I hoped it would be, in fact the last installment was the best so far. Acting did not seem up too par and then the annoying pointless cameo by Stan lee again. 3/5

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice - great special fx in last part of movie, trouble is it took too long getting there. Too long winded by far. Being generous. 3/5

10 Cloverfield Lane

10 Cloverfield Lane - not very impressed, best part is the last few minutes but even that is not fantastic. 2/5

London Has Fallen - again good action sequences, but too much pro America (odd since you have a scot playing the lead) and of course Terrorism is evil! 3/5 at best.

Triple 9 - good action sequences, but poor performances, story very thin. 3/5

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - too much pride and prejudice and not enough zombies. 2/5 at best.

DEADPOOL

DEADPOOL - not very impressed to much on the comedy side. Well it did not make me laugh! As usual the now OBLIGATORY STAN LEE CAMEO AS A DJ. Hang the DJ comes to mind! 2/5

Goosebumps

Goosebumps - I cannot stand Jack Black his acting is like watching paint dry. This movie is strictly for kids. Nonsense story and script. 1/5

Dirty Grandpa

Dirty Grandpa - some mildly funny moments, but not hilarious. Don't believe the hype! 2/5

Creed

Creed - pretty much alike the Rocky movies, but with Stallone taking a back seat a little as a trainer. Not as good as earlier Rocky movies though. 2.5/5

The 5th Wave

The 5th Wave - very disappointing, very predictable (I guessed the slight twist as soon as troops drove into refugee camp - hint where did they get their power from?). Aimed at teenage audience who may like it. I guess there will be a sequel as it is so poor. 2/5

Exposed

Exposed - very poor thriller starts with a hint of supernatural, but turns out t be a damp squib. 1/5

Solace

Solace - A psychic detective tracks a psychic murderer nice twist of an idea. Not a bad thriller either. 3/5

The Revenant

The Revenant - is another movie tipped for awards. That explains why you could easily loose 40 mins from this (did Tarantino direct this LOL) and still make more sense of the story. 2.5/5

The Big Short

The Big Short - I would advise anybody who still does not fully understand what happened with the financial collapse in 2008 to watch this. It tells in simple terms using acting what happened and terms to understand. The summing up at the end is simply what I have been saying since it happened. But I still find many who do not fully get it. It was fraud on a massive scale to the taxpayers. Well worth a watch! 3.5/5

Black Mass

Black Mass - well acted but not that exciting as it is based closely on true events surrounding gangster Whitey Bulger. 3/5

The Hateful Eight

The Hateful Eight - I am not a big Tarantino fan and this movies reinforces that. You could easily lose the first hour of this movie as it is mostly superfluous to the story, which as usual is played back out of order, flashbacks if you like. Probably the last hour of the movie is where the story is at and it is a kind of western whodunit? With the usual bloody violent scenes that Tarantino loves. 2/5

The Intern

The Intern - was surprisingly a good watch with a very human story, the ending though was too sudden and unexpected. 3/5
